Role : Safety ManagerLocation : Washington DCWe are looking for a Safety Manager to join our client's team, a multi-billion dollar commercial construction company responsible for some of the largest projects in the DC/Baltimore area. The ideal candidate must have 5 or more years of experience creating, implementing and managing safety plans within the commercial construction industry. Strong knowledge of high value projects is strongly preferred.Responsibilities:Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions.Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors.Mentor other Safety Professionals within the organization.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (preferred).CHST certification is required, CSP certification is preferred.At least 5-7 years of industry experience in commercial construction.Knowledge of high-value, ground-up construction projects.Experience creating and implementing Accident Prevention Plans.Strong leadership and communication skills.EM 385 1-1 Certification and knowledge of safety standards within a federal construction setting is a plus.Ability to travel throughout the DC metropolitan area is required including Northern Virginia, Maryland, and downtown DC.
