Job Description

Assistant Restaurant General Manager responsibilities include a focus on maintaining the restaurant s revenue, profitability and quality goals as well as supporting the Restaurant General Manager in oversight of operations. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.To be successful in this role, you will need management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. You will support the GM and sometimes act in their place in oversight of the dining room, communication with customers and kitchen staff. You will assist the GM in hiring and staffing decisions, scheduling ordering and adherence with regulations.We expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.Responsibilities

Work in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure quality restaurant operationsAssist in coordinating the Front of the House and Back of the House staffDeliver superior service and maximize customer satisfactionRespond efficiently and accurately to customer complaintsCommunicate with employees about their job performance, expectations and trainingRegularly review product quality and research new vendorsOrganize and supervise shiftsEnsure staff operate within company policiesEnsure compliance with sanitation and safety regulationsManage restaurant s good image and suggest ways to improve itTrain new and current employees on proper customer service practicesImplement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operationsRequirements

Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant General Manager or similar roleProven customer service experience as a managerExtensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staffStrong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Internet tools, etc.Familiarity with restaurant management software, like Aloha and ResyStrong leadership, motivational and people skillsUnderstanding of financial analysis, tracking and planningDegree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plusIt is understood that there may sometimes be tasks or needs that fall outside of this description, and it is expected the employee will use sound judgment to manage these tasks, completing them where needed and asking for assistance or direction as appropriate.
