Position Summary:

The Lead Resident Monitor is accountable directly to the Program Director. Assists Program Director and Resident Monitor Manager with ensuring shift coverage, creating and maintaining an ongoing Resident Monitor shift schedule, ensuring quality resident monitors through assisting with recruiting and hiring.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with first interviews for Resident Monitors, checks references, and participates in hiring decisions as needed.
  • Trains new Resident Monitors on shift operations and reviews Resident Monitor Handbook and program rules with them. Coordinates with Program Managers to schedule new hires to shadow other high performing resident monitors during a shift.
  • Collaborates with Program Director to ensure that concise and clear shift reports are written by Resident Monitors.
  • Collaborates with Program Director to develop and maintain a program calendar and resident information postings as needed.
  • Participates in the On-Call Supervisor rotations, providing supervision to Resident Monitors and assisting during emergency situations or staffing issues after-hours and on the weekend.
  • Addresses resident concerns in real time as needed or refers to Case Manager and/or Program Director as appropriate.
  • At least hourly, monitors community areas within building including lobby, phone room and area outside the building to prevent loitering and makes rounds throughout the building. Monitors security cameras for activity in and around the building; addressing issues as needed.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma /GED or equivalent experience required.
  • B.A/B.S. preferred
  • Some supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in social services preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff required.
  • Punctuality and reliability required;
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook Mail and other Microsoft Office applications as needed
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to act responsibly, professionally, and use good judgement required.
  • Ability to de-ice the front walkway by salting and shoveling the front area when inclement weather occurs.
  • Experience working in a residential environment preferred.
  • Ability to write shift and incident reports in detail required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • This position is required to work 100% on site.

Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For over 40 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and supportive services for under-resourced, underserved and people experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC.
