Responsibilities:

We are seeking a senior cyber security engineer to join our team to support our federal clients. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Moreover, the candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of data, ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of security standards and therefore is expected to have meticulous attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving skills. Experience in data and analytics, application development or related experience is preferred. Relevant security, data, cloud, and Agile certifications are a plus.

To ensure success, a cyber security engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network.

  • Network and System Security: Address and mitigate all network and related system security breaches promptly and effectively. Develop and implement robust security measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of data on the platform.
  • Security Integration: Work closely with development teams to incorporate security requirements into the platform's design and development processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is a fundamental aspect of all aspects of the platform.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular tests and scans to identify network and system vulnerabilities. Develop and implement strategies to remediate vulnerabilities and enhance the overall security posture of the platform.
  • Azure Cloud Security: Implement and maintain security controls in Azure cloud environments. Stay abreast of the latest Azure security features and updates, ensuring the platform aligns with best practices.
  • Agile Development: Participate in Agile development processes, providing security insights and guidance throughout the development life cycle. Collaborate with Agile teams to integrate security tasks seamlessly into the sprint cycles.
  • Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans to efficiently address and mitigate security incidents. Provide expertise and support during security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and thorough post-incident analysis.
  • Security Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to security policies, procedures, and configurations. Conduct regular reviews of security documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with proficiency in security best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, in particular data and analytics environments would be ideal.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure cloud security and services.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent, or Azure certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Office 365 Security, VSX, and Endpoint Security.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, and/or Power Shell.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Clearance: Eligible to obtain a public trust clearance.
