Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center his hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist for a full time, day shift position in Woodbridge, VA! The schedule is 5 eight hour days. On Call requirement is a minimum of 8 shifts per month including at least 1 weekend.

$5,000 Sign On Bonus available for qualified candidates.

Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on call requirements.

Department Overview:

The Cath Lab at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 50-person team of monitor techs, cardiovascular invasive techs, registered nurses and patient care staff for additional support. The team sees a mix of inpatient and outpatient and an average of 10 procedures per day. Heart and Vascular has 3 labs for EP, Cardiac and IR at SNVMC.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.

Job Requirements

  • Education: A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic.


  • Required: BLS


  • Required: ACLS required within 90 days of hire


  • Preferred- clinical experience within a cath setting

TS - Trade School Graduate: Radiologic Technology (Required)

ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Certifications - Other/National, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Certifications - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
