Description

POSITION TITLE: Fitness Manager - Padonia

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time/Salary/Exempt

COMPANY & LOCATION: Brick Bodies Health & Fitness - Timonium

HOURS OF WORK: 45+ Hours per week; evenings and weekends required as necessary. May train an additional 5 hours per week outside of the 45 required hours.

REPORTS TO: General Manager and Personal Training Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fitness Manager (FM) is the face of the Fitness Department! You are a leader to your personal training team, and you work closely with the GM and Membership Team to achieve the clubs personal training revenue goal. By embodying the company core purpose, of helping people change their lives for the better, your role as FM is critical to the overall member experience and growth of the department.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

The FM will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with:
  • Personal Training Director
  • General Manager
  • Membership Counselors
  • Personal Trainers
  • Marketing Director
  • Full Charge Bookkeeper (payroll)
  • Brick Bodies' Members
  • External vendors & partners
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Expected Outcomes:
  • Drive revenue production and personal training sales to hit monthly and annual budget targets.
  • Conduct Initial Consultations with new members.
  • Conduct phone calls focused on setting appointments with prospective PT clients, Team and People Management.
  • Develop a high performing team through coaching, teaching, and training.
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new trainers.
  • Conduct, at a minimum, monthly individual meetings with each member of the personal training team at their location.
  • Because of the fluctuating demands of our Clubs' operations, it may be necessary that each associate performs a multitude of different functions. Therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other associates are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed that are not included in the above accountability list.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITITES:

Achieve the following benchmarks:
  • Work with the Membership Team to successfully book 60% of all new members in the free personal training sessions with a 70% show ratio.
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 10-15 Consultations per week (Shows).
  • Successfully convert a minimum of 35% of free personal training sessions to clients per week (Closes).
  • Successfully hit personal revenue goal of $5k in new client acquisition (may be subject to change over time.)
  • Ensure that the PT presentations and fitness assessments are structured and standardized, consistent with corporate standards.
  • Develop and execute lead generation strategies with the team.
  • Effectively manage lead follow up in the CRM.
  • Effectively communicate all department initiatives, standards and directives.
  • Provide input and participate in performance assessment and separation processes for Personal Trainers, in partnership with HR and Management.
  • Establish and develop a collaborative and results-focused Personal Training Team.
  • Create a positive and healthy workplace environment that provides opportunities for team advancement.
  • Lead and participate in cleaning duties assigned by club leadership team, including but not limited to, cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting work out equipment, group fitness studios, work stations, locker rooms, and restrooms.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • A Bachelor's Degree (in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology; or Kinesiology) or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) years related sales experience.
  • Two (2) years experience in the fitness industry.
  • Two (2) years of leadership and people management experience including proven success in leading, coaching, and motivating teams and individuals to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Current Personal Training Certification from NCCA accredited source through approved Brick Bodies source (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA).
  • Current CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of service focused on hospitality, caring, welcoming, and fun.
  • A passion for fitness; demonstrated knowledge of fitness equipment and wellness strategies.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
Physical Environment & Requirements
  • Primarily indoor environment with normal exposure to light, sound, heat, and cold.
  • Must be able to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp, and reach.
  • Must be able frequently move, lift, push, pull, carry at least 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate fitness equipment.
  • Must be able to recognize, identify, and judge behavior within environment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and must be able to exchange accurate information.
