Job description

Who We Are:The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) oversees capital projects undertaken by state agencies and state-supported institutions of higher education; manages Ohio's school facility programs which provide support for the construction and renovation of public K-12 schools; and administers the funding for community-based cultural and sports facilities projects.The Commission sets uniform rules, procedures, and standardized documents for state construction under Chapter 153.The legislature established the Commission in 2012 with the merger of the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) and the former Office of State Architect. In 2013, the Commission undertook oversight of the cultural facilities grants program. In 2017, the legislature further folded all OSFC duties and responsibilities into the Commission, thereby consolidating guidance and oversight for its various programs into one entity.In 2021, the Commission celebrated 100 years of public construction in the Buckeye State.What We Do:The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission oversees capital projects undertaken by state agencies and state-supported institutions of higher education; manages Ohio's school facility programs which provide support for the construction and renovation of public K-12 schools; and administers the funding for community-based cultural and sports facilities projects.What You'll Do:* System Tester Duties:* Test functionality changes in new and existing web tools* Document and report test results and defects to the development team* Writes & executes automated test scripts* Provides enhancements for existing software, infrastructure &/or database systems in compliance with specifications and standards* Example: Creates and/or modifies program modules, creates database diagrams, writes standard queries, unit testing* Performs Other Related Duties:* Assists/trains Planning and Project staff on tool usage* Attends meetings, seminars, conferences; maintains logs & files* Maintains confidentiality of records & reportsWe Support Diversity and Inclusion:OFCC values its internal diversity and pledges to cultivate an inclusive and engaging environment for all employees where differences are embraced and celebrated. The values on which these efforts are founded are respect, empathy, transparency, equality, and equal access.Qualifications:* Knowledge* Computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or related field* Computer software, database, system testing methodologies, operating systems, & procedures* Skill* Operation of a personal computer & associated software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).* Ability to* Pay attention to detail* Carry out instructions in written, oral, or picture form* Communicate orally on technical & non-technical matters* Use proper research methods in gathering data.* File & maintain records accurately* Apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems* Deal with problems involving several variables in a familiar context
