Project Director

Job description

The PD will be responsible for helping to shape the vision and long-term plan for the project. The PD should have experience working with DOL or similar government agencies to understand the needs and constraints of DOL agencies and program offices. The PD s time commitment must reflect levels to ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery of the contract s services and deliverables.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the efforts of various employees to ensure the completion of tasks

Develop a timeline for the completion of each project

Create a budget for project tasks and monitor spending within approved project resources

Recommend changes to stay within budget and on time

Develop an alternate plan for completing a job if needed

Qualifications

  • The PD must have the following qualifications: a minimum of seven (7) years of experience performing or managing social science research, preferably related to the programs and activities of the Department of Labor
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience serving as a project director or in an equivalent position in project management; experience working with childcare data and market rate surveys; experience in creating or directing the creation of public-use databases; and experience managing complex projects with teams working simultaneously on different activities
