**Job Description:**

**SUMMARY**: With supervision, maintains library inventory and web order system, processes orders for MIRC acquisitions, circulates and maintains inventory of IRC holdings and assists other IRC staff in tasks required to maintain high quality service and responsiveness to customers.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES** **:**

**Essential Functions:**

- Manages the Maryland Instructional Resource Centers (MIRC) library inventory system and web order system.

- Processes orders for textbooks and materials.

- Manages process for packing and shipping process for textbooks and instructional materials in response to requests.

- Manages process for returned materials.

- Maintains accurate inventory of MIRC holdings and APH materials.

- Enters and updates data in MIRC database and produces required reports.

- Picks up and delivers all incoming/outgoing packages from the MSB mailroom.

**Marginal Functions:**

- Performs other duties as assigned.

**CONDITIONS**:

**Equipment Used**: Computer, scanner, printers, high-density mobile shelving, school vehicle, and shipping carts.

**Performance Standard**: Must ensure accurate, timely shipping and reshelving of materials and maintenance of statewide inventory of textbooks in alternative media 100% of the time.

**Work Environment**: Standard office conditions with overhead fluorescent lighting, 70-80 degree air temperature and available window ventilation.

**Work Schedule**: 37 1/2 daytime hours Monday-Friday with daily half-hour unpaid lunch; flextime or additional hours occasionally required.

**Pay:** $17/hr

**Experience and Skills:**

**QUALIFICATIONS** **:**

**Knowledge, skills and general abilities:**

- Comprehensive knowledge of computer operations and software applications and keyboarding.

- Basic knowledge of inventory control and record keeping,

- Basic knowledge of purchasing procedures and order processing.

- Experience with library inventory system preferred.

- Excellent customer service skills.

- Valid Maryland motor vehicle operator's Class C license.

- Must be at least 18 years of age, and have HS diploma or GED.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

**After six months in this position, the employee is required to have:**

- Comprehensive knowledge of IRC computerized inventory/circulation system.

- General knowledge of IRC operations, packing, shipping and receiving procedures, and the School's organizational structure, policies, and procedures.

- Basic knowledge of computerized Braille production.
