Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. Youll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities:

Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action

Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients

Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process

Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed

Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations

Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background

Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required

Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)

4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position

Prior experience representing clients in trials and mediation

Must be able to handle a moderate caseload while supervising others

Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with management and interpersonal skills
