Job Summary/Basic Function
Attend and participate in ALL training sessions.
Supervise activities involving new students attending the summer Orientation Step 1: Advisement and Registration Programs.
Serve as a positive representative of the University to new students and their families.
Facilitate new students' introduction to Shepherd by maintaining an open, helpful attitude and using effective communication techniques.
Promote interaction among new students during small group discussions and activities
Demonstrate the ability to engage students who struggle socially or who are not typically extroverted and prefer to not be engaged.
Be fully prepared to respond to student and family questions about social and academic aspects of University life.
Facilitate small group interactions on various topics, including course enrollment and student life issues. Assist faculty advisors as needed.
Facilitate social activities for new students through direct involvement and participation.
Assist with and support all aspects of the summer Orientation Programs
Enrolled part-time for Summer 2024 and/or Fall 2024
Reference: One reference required in order to complete application.
Time Commitment: All A-Team members will be expected to work all the Orientation Step 1 dates with no other obligations interfering with those dates. Employment opportunities may continue throughout July. (June A-Teamers are encouraged to apply for August A-Team as well!)
Payment: A-Team members receive room (if applicable) and meals (as available) during the program, and are hourly. Payments through Shepherd University are dispersed in arrears.

- August A-Team may conflict with Fall sports, Ram Band, Resident Assistant Trainings and other early arrival activities. A-Team is required to work all scheduled Orientation dates, so please check in with your instructor, supervisor, or coach.
