**Job Duties**
Ensure that all health department requirements are met; paper towels, trash, soap, sani -buckets are at the proper concentration. * Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of hotel/resort.
* Respond properly in any emergency or safety situation.
* Embody mission, vision and values of the hotel daily.
* Perform other tasks or projects as assigned or requested.
* High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
* Experience working as a kitchen steward, preferably in a resort/hotel environment.
* Knowledge of cleaning detergents, chemicals and washing equipment and the proper safety procedures for their use.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
* Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.

**Position Summary**
The Steward is responsible for promptly and carefully sorting and cleaning dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans and other related items.
* Must follow proper payroll procedures; be on time for assigned shift and promptly.
* Coordinates the flow of dirty and clean equipment throughout the day.
* Ensure all outlets are prepared for the days service.
* Maintain a safe work environment; keep floors clear and dry, remove obstacles.
* Maintain food service sanitation certification (Virginia Food Handlers Card) / Safe Serve Certification
* Maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
* Store items properly at the end of the shift.
* Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
* Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.
**Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations**
* Ability to work day, nights, weekends and holidays.
