Position Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President of the Division of Learning, the Director of Educational Partnerships is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the college's high school programs, and educational partnerships. The Director provides leadership to coordinate and implement strategic and collaborative initiatives with local K-12 districts (such as middle college high school, credit and non-credit concurrent enrollment, and other early college programs). This position develops and implements collaborative programs with other educational and community partners to promote student access and works with faculty, staff, and students to ensure students' successful transition to college and efficient program completion in traditional and non-traditional pathways.

The department collaborates with those who provide services, workshops, and extra-curricular activities/events designed to assist first-year students with the successful transition into college. The position works with academic leadership to identify, train, and support faculty who are teaching Dual Enrollment and Early College programs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Create and maintain the administrative relationships and MOU's for Early College and dual enrollment programs with CSM Local Educational Agencies and private schools
In collaboration with the Admission Department, provide leadership and coordination for outreach and transition services, which includes the Dual Enrollment, Early College, and other assigned programs.
Support the development of effective partnerships with feeder K-12 and adult education school districts and community organizations to conduct outreach and recruitment efforts to increase enrollment of students in assigned programs
In collaboration with academic leadership, identify, train, and support faculty who are teaching dual enrollment and Early College classes
Work closely with faculty, staff and students to develop and maintain effective transition support programs
Work collaboratively with the admissions department to recruit under-represented groups
Work collaboratively with the marketing department to prepare, disseminate, and present information about all assigned programs to internal and external audiences. Oversees development and maintenance of the program websites and brochures
Work collaboratively with other Division of Learning and Student Equity and Success departments to ensure that appropriate support services, facilities, technology, and instructional materials are available for all educational partnerships
Collaborate with other academic departments to develop and conduct new student orientation activities and summer bridge that welcomes students to campus; introduces them to the kinds of education opportunities available at CSM
Monitor budget and expenditures within assigned area; ensures expenditures are within program guidelines and further the goals and objectives of program area
Work collaboratively with the planning, institutional effectiveness, and research development department to prepare program data, reports, and narratives for effective evaluation and on-going development of assigned programs
Work collaboratively with the grants office in the successful completion of grant-writing efforts with a focus on supporting college initiatives for assigned areas including culturally responsive student success, access and equity-related initiatives
Serve on campus and community committees relevant to outreach, educational partnerships, and first year student experiences
Anticipate, prevent, and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries, conflicts and complaints
Perform related duties as required

Supervision:

The Director of Educational Partnerships supervises the following positions:
Coordinator, Dual Enrollment/Early College Programs
Minimum Education and Training

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required
Minimum of 3 years of successful academic experience leading an instructional area at a Coordinator level or higher
Must have experience in the development, implementation, and management of access, outreach and/or educational partnership-related programs
Must have experience that indicates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and personnel
Experience working with K-12 and/or community college programs is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:
Policies and procedures in higher education and in K-12 education
Principles and practices of program development and administration
Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration
Principles and practices of contract administration
Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

Abilities:
Oversee and participate in the management of a comprehensive student development program for a college that includes a series of interrelated projects or functional areas of significant depth and complexity
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate assigned programs
Plan, schedule, and review the work of assigned staff
Advise and direct students in various organizational activities
Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals
Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques
Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
