To learn more about Berry, visit Responsibilities Position Summary: Responsible for Injection Molding machine processing and daily machine production requirements. Responsible for IM machine processing systems within appropriate process guidelines; Responsible for working with the shift to maximize production requirements and to provide general direction to packer and/or utility employees on the shift. Insures that the quality of all products produced meet the customer's specifications; Reviews daily production performance to insure that the department is meeting efficiency goals; Serves as an example for housekeeping and safety standards; Responsible for troubleshooting all process related issues, mold set-ups and other technical duties for the IM equipment. Set parameters and standards for such molds. Responsible for the training of molding techs. Works with maintenance staff to provide equipment maintenance for mechanical issues to insure that they are corrected in a timely manner. Must be able to perform the duties of molding technicians. Must understand resin handling/unloading railcars. Complete all required process-related paperwork. Analyze process for improvement and advise management of such findings. Other duties as requested by the Department Operations Manager or Shift Leader. Qualifications Can verify quality of finished product (measure/visual to control plan) and properly react to problem. Understands and demonstrates proper safety procedures and is familiar with LOTO procedures for all of the equipment involved. Able to locate and understand all machine safeties. Ability to color change, make processing changes for quality defects, and make minor mechanical repairs; Demonstrates proper Daily PM compliance with all paperwork completed 3 or more years experience in IM processing or other plastic processing. Manual Dexterity -- The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Mechanical aptitude -Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and basic mechanical repairs. Forklift certification - The ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner consistent with OSHA standards Information Ordering -- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Wrist-Finger Speed -- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Multilimb Coordination -- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. Lifting Requirements -- Ability to lift 30 pounds over head to total height of six feet Walking/Standing---Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day. Position Hours Assigned 12-hour schedule Schedule rotates as follows: two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc. Flexibility for occasional overtime and call-in work required Organization Relationships Report directly to Shift Supervisor for purposes of scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment Indirectly reports to Department Manager for product requirements, quality requirements, and overall departmental goals.
