OverviewOur client located in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a 6 month contract to hire position. In this role the Cloud Engineer will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will possess a strong understanding of cloud platforms, virtualization, networking, storage, security, and scripting. You will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud-based systems. You will also work closely with our development teams to help them leverage the cloud to build and deploy innovative solutions.Responsibilities* Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (laC).* Implement and manage cloud-based services on AWS, Azure, or GCP* Migrate on-premises workloads to the cloud* Manage and optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and scalability* Implement and maintain cloud security measures to protect sensitive data* Automate cloud and on-premise tasks using scripting languages* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions* Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and provide technical support* Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trendsQualifications* 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering.* Proven expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere).* Solid understanding of high-level networking concepts (IP routing, firewalls, load balancing).* Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).* Knowledge of IaC tools, specifically Terraform and Cloudformation.* Familiarity with DevOps methodologies.* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.* In-depth understanding of cloud security principles.Preferred Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.* AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.* Microsoft Azure - Solutions Architect.* Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
