Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.RequirementsAdministrative Assistant (temporary) - Georgetown University Medical CenterJob OverviewThe Administrative Assistant - in a temporary role - manages the administrative duties for GUMC Offices - for example, meeting scheduling, faculty support, academic program support, file maintenance, copying, faxing, and mailing; and performs a variety of complex and confidential administrative duties. Responsibilities include furnishing information, scheduling meetings and preparing agendas, responding to routine correspondence, researching background material, and responding to visitors and telephone calls; exercises considerable judgment and discretion in completing assignments.The Administrative Assistant assists in various responsibilities associated with management of the office, such as the personnel and payroll activities of the department, including timesheet processing and Georgetown Management System (GMS) assistance for the office, payment to ensure compliance with University HR policies and procedures. They may design spreadsheets, maintain databases, and order supplies and equipment.Work InteractionsReporting directly to, and receiving general guidance/supervision from - the Medical Center's Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP) for Business Affairs & Administration - a member of the EVP's leadership cabinet, the Administrative Assistant works closely with the EVP's Chief of Staff as a member of the collaborative administrative support team to the Executive Vice President. For project-specific work and other duties, they may also have reporting through various GUMC faculty and staff.Qualifications* High School diploma* Approximately 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience* Strong office computer skills and necessary technical skills include advanced use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and proficiency with e-mail and browser applications* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in a timely and accurate manner* Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with administration, faculty, staff, students, and others* Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills* Ability to prioritize and manage tasks simultaneously with independence* Strong organization and communication skills* Extensive working knowledge of assigned department's practices and procedures* Ability to handle sensitive situations and informationWork Mode: Telework.
