About Woodland Job Corps Center
The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

Currently, we are looking for a Senior Residential Advisor who is passionate and experienced to join our team.

As a Senior Residential Advisor, you will play a key role in mentoring and guiding our students, helping to create a positive and nurturing living environment for them. Your responsibilities will go beyond the traditional duties of an advisor; you will serve as a role model, advocate, and guide for the holistic development of the young individuals entrusted to our care.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Mentorship:

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Residential Advisors, fostering a culture of support, respect, and personal growth.
    • Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to their success.
  • Student Engagement and Support:

    • Develop and implement programs to engage students in meaningful and enriching activities during non-academic hours.
    • Offer emotional and social support to students, ensuring their overall well-being and success.
  • Crisis Management:

    • Respond effectively to any residential or personal crises, providing immediate assistance and coordinating appropriate interventions.
    • Collaborate with the larger campus community to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to emergencies.
  • Residential Life Programming:

    • Plan and coordinate residential life programs, events, and activities that contribute to the students' personal and social development.
    • Collaborate with academic and vocational departments to integrate residential life into the overall student experience.
  • Community Building:

    • Foster a sense of community within the residential living spaces, promoting inclusivity and respect for diversity.
    • Establish open lines of communication with students to address concerns and celebrate achievements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Drivers License preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
