* **Job Summary**

+ Performs registration and customer service representative duties. Assists in billing Nursing Home accounts.Maintains professional and courteous behavior to ensure customer satisfaction.

* **Minimum Qualifications**

+ **Education/Training**

- High school graduation or equivalent; completion of an accredited program for laboratory assistant, medical assistant or phlebotomy preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology.

+ **Experience**

- 2 years patient registration/billing/customer service experience in a medical setting preferred.

+

+ **License/Certification/Registration**

- No special certification, registration or license required.

+

+ **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. Proficient use of hospital and registration and/or billing systems, clinical laboratory information systems, and Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

* **Primary Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Accurately & efficiently reconciles stat and courier charges, on a daily basis.

+ Assists in preparing invoices and sending monthly bills to the nursing facilities as needed.

+ Assists in updating of accounts for monthly list bills to the nursing facilities.

+ Becomes familiar of billing periods and how invoices are processed for each billing cycle.

+ Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

+ Follows up with business office administrators in an effort to retrieve the updated census for each facility on a weekly basis.

+ Maintains an organized work environment.

+ Monitors HDX- assuring insurance information is up to date on accounts.

+ Monitors NH billing profiles to assure accounts are being billed in a timely manner.

+ Performs duties of a Customer Service Representative.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Understands and independently upgrades account profiles on a weekly basis.

+ Understands billing process and able to problem solve any account problems.
