Job description

SiloSmashers is seeking an experienced consultant to support our federal law enforcement customer's Finance Modernization Team. This innovative team is primarily focused on modernizing business processes, providing process standardization and customer service efficiencies across the FBI. Using project management principles, the modernization team benchmarks with other agencies, coordinates cross-division collaborative efforts on large-scale process change, and develops and delivers communication and training on change efforts. Responsibilities: * Work with customers to identify concerns, vet workarounds, and identify and document solutions to requests.
* Develop research and data collection to understand the organization
* Interview the client's employees, management team, and other stakeholders
* Identify and negotiate schedules, milestones, and resources required to meet project objectives
* Implement recommendations or solutions and ensure the client receives the necessary assistance to carry it all out
* Conduct focus groups and facilitate workshops
* Support project objectives through activities such as gathering data and developing recommendations.
* Perform a variety of tasks that require both practical and technical knowledge in specialty areas.
* Provide support to various project teams and leadership as a key facilitator to achieve the objectives of complex efforts.
* Effectively prepare business proposals and presentations
* Manage projects and programs
* Evaluate options in the context of project objectives and contributes to the implementation of strategic direction.
* Support project objectives through activities such as gathering data and developing recommendations.
* Perform a variety of tasks that require both practical and technical knowledge in specialty areas.
* Provide support to various project teams and leadership as a key facilitator to achieve the objectives of complex efforts.
* Support data validation procedures.
* Work with customers to identify concerns, vet workarounds, and identify and document solutions to requests. Establish a method for the customers to communicate, vet, and document the results of working group decisions into problem reports and or change requests, as necessary. Qualifications: Five (5) or more years:
* Gathering, scrutinizing, and assessing information.
* Working experience in business process reengineering and internal controls.
* Experience in both leading and providing technical direction to complex accounting challenges and providing recommendations and solutions that are legal and auditable.
* Managing projects and assignments according to a timeline, skillfully exercising problem solving and judgment to address issues and/or report deviations in a timely manner.
* Assessing productivity, effectively addressing complex issues within the team, conducting studies to analyze operations and gather requirements for software development or licensing needs, and clear understanding of when to escalate matters to executive management.
* running reports, analyzing reports and data, summarizing reports and data, documenting activities, verifying the accuracy of data and conclusions, developing of custom tools and reports including Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, communication of data and conclusions in written and/or oral form.
* Conducting training, participate in meetings, lead meetings, develop materials for trainings and meetings.
* Reading and perception of nuanced situations and historical background, taking each into account for productive interaction with those both inside and outside the core team as well as demonstrate the ability to work with others with differing opinions and come to equitable solutions to move the assignments forward
* developing new work product without precedent while assigned to projects involving novel methods, approaches, tools, and concepts in a strong team environment; and develop custom reports or extract data in new and novel ways.
* Prior technical / IT background and/or experience implementing enterprise-level computer systems or large-scale process improvement projects. Education
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with five (5) year or more years of consulting experience. Educational requirement may be waived if the candidate has eight (8) or more years of experience. Desired Qualification:
* Master's degree in Accounting, Financial Management or Taxation
* Possess a current financial certification such as the CMA, CPA, CIA, CGFM, CISA, etc.
* Experience with Microsoft PowerBI functionality
* Knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulation and IRS rules governing employer-directed relocation of individuals within the field to provide support and recommendations to FFD management decision-making.
* Prior experience with CGI Momentum software platform, Microsoft Excel and Sharepoint
* Prior experience in law enforcement and /or the intelligence community
* SME of Cost Accounting principles pertaining to User Fees and the recording of various revenue streams for User fees.
* SME of Full Cost Accumulation for real and personal property and Internal Use Software accounting principles
